Hello Jamboree Families!
The purpose of my email today is to help our great Troop Leaders out by finding out how many people are attending our family potluck this Thursday, August 20 and also the campout scheduled for Friday August 28 - Saturday August 29. PLEASE respond ASAP with how many people from your family will be at the potluck and also if your scout will be attending the campout. Please respond even if you are NOT able to attend!
Here are the important details on those events ...
POTLUCK
Thursday August 20
6:30 pm
Wanship Park (across from LDS Church where our meetings are held)
Troop will provide: Meat (Burgers and Buns), paper goods and condiments
You Need to Bring: A side dish to share (dessert, salad, chips, veggies, etc..)
CAMPOUT:
Friday August 28 - Saturday August 29
Leave late afternoon on the 28th - return early afternoon on the 29th
Will need drivers and a few trailers for gear
Chris Robinson's property up Echo Canyon (map attached)
Each scout should bring $7.00 to cover cost of food

Dates: July 19 - August 6, 2010
Locations: New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Virginia (all of the sights and experiences you can imagine).
Cost: $2,600 includes airfare, ground transportation, food, Jamboree, etc. (plus, personal gear, uniforms, incidentals).

How to Register for the Jamboree
Click on the link http://www.bsajamboree.org/ and read all about the Jamboree. Be sure to watch the cool video by clicking on the "View Promo Video" link next the Jamboree Patch in the upper left hand corner of the site.
Click "Register Now" and it will tell you all the details regarding qualifications and other information.
Click http://www.myscouting.org/ to go to the actual site for registration. You will need your Scout ID Number, (which is on the registration card you would have received as a registered scout). If you need your number, call the camp desk at the Great Salt Lake Council 801.582.3663 and they will gladly give you your ID number so you can register with National. You will need a credit card for the $10.00 registration fee.
After you have registered with National, then you can begin making payments to the Great Salt Lake Council. A minimum of $250.00 is now due and the balance of the total anticipated fee of $2,200.00 will be due by December 31, 2009. Go the http://www.gslc-bsa.org/ to get more information by clicking on the "Events" tab and going to the "National Jamboree".
